Today went well. I will soon retire for the night with a movie or something...
I got to hear about a lot of other people's lives and that was nice even if it was brief.
A friend of mine used to always hate his birthday (maybe still does) because it reminded him how much he hadn't accomplished.
I am not feeling that way.
I'm still growing.
Maybe that is all that needs to be said.

I am glad that you are not feeling unaccomplished on your birthday, because I hope you know that you ARE accomplished thus far in your life. You have gotten a lot of travel in, seen a lot of things, and touched students with your teaching (even if it doesn't feel like it now - years from now a student may contact you and say "thank you," and then it will all be worth while). Glad you had a good birthday, you deserve it! And I think one of the best birthdays is curling up on the couch and watching a movie! So way to go. (:
